Based in Europe, this business has been operating in Australia for the last 10 years and is now ready to further grow their technical sales team. With on-going research and development, quality customer service and support, this business is primed to compete with their larger competitors. This company will offer an experienced agronomist an opportunity to continue to develop their technical, agronomic and commercial skills.

The role itself?
From a home based office you will engage with growers, agronomy consultants and rural retailers across the horticulture production regions in South Australia. You will also spend time with the technical staff, on-farm agronomists, production/farm managers and business managers across the industry where you will create opportunities to strengthen their understanding of the company’s products. Your day to day activities in this role will include: 

  • Organising and establishing appropriate field activities to promote products through commercial demo plots, grower field days and grower meetings

  • Leveraging distributor partners as multipliers for demand generation activities

  • Prepare and implement a detailed territory business plan based on robust market intelligence and focus on key opportunities to meet sales targets

  • Maintain timely and accurate forecasting based on environmental outlooks, market information, product positioning and competitive knowledge

  • Proactively identify, create, and implement plans to capture opportunities to expand the business in the territory

  • Preparing and implementing suitable business plans supported by robust market intelligence and key opportunity focus

  • Ensuring product positioning and demonstrating value for product/technology to the growers and key stakeholders

  • Effectively managing local customer relationships and ensuring excellent communication

  • Proactively resolving and recording all customer questions, feedback and issues

What kind of person will fit the role?
To be considered for this position you must have tertiary agricultural science qualifications and previous experience in horticultural, nut/tree crop agronomy. It is also important that you have an ability to establish, maintain and develop relationships with agronomists and farmers alike by providing quality information and solutions.
